Why the Three Leeches Matter

Where to Find the Leeches
Skip the shop and search on foot. The three Leeches appear as small ground pickups around the forest section of Island 2, including the paths near the quest giver. Check the ground rather than the water and use E when the interaction prompt appears.
Route tip: Speak to the forest lady first, sweep the nearby ground in a widening loop, and return only after all three Leeches are in your inventory. This keeps the objective clear in co-op, where loose quest items are easy to misplace.
Turn In the Leeches and Use the Reward
Give the three Leeches to the forest lady to receive Father's Favorite Bait. Equip that reward on your rod, prepare the crew, and cast from Island 2 to trigger the Giant Piranha fight. The Leeches themselves are not the boss lure.
