The creatures in Dazed Games' How to Fish game are more than a fixed bestiary: some are ordinary sale stock, some satisfy NPC requests, and others are bait or bosses that open the next island.

This guide follows the five story stages and highlights the catches that matter for progression. Because values vary by creature and killscore, use F to inspect the catch instead of relying on a static price list.

1. Lighthouse — Beer, Spider Crab, and Boat Keys

The opening route teaches interaction and fishing through a short quest chain:

• Bring Beer to the lighthouse NPC and keep the Empty Beer Can.
• Use the can in the Spider Crab objective.
• Return the named quest drop to receive the Boat Keys and Radar.

2. Forest Island — Three Leeches and the Giant Piranha

The key “catch” on Island 2 begins on land:

• Leeches: Collect exactly three ground pickups around the forest area.
• Father's Favorite Bait: Give the Leeches to the forest lady to receive the actual boss lure.
• Giant Piranha: Cast the rewarded bait, defeat the boss, and return its story drop for the next coordinates.

3. Desert Island — Tourist Request and Pufferfish

Island 3 introduces the grill and a category-based creature request:

• Endangered creature: Current walkthroughs commonly use Needlefish, Bowl Fish, or Seahorse for the Tourist's request.
• Carrot: The Tourist gives this quest lure after accepting a qualifying creature.
• Pufferfish: Cast the Carrot, avoid the purple trail in phase two, and return the Tail to unlock Island 4.

4. Rocks Island — Tuna and the Terrorizing Bird

The Island 4 chain turns an ordinary catch into boss bait:

• Obtain the Professional Boss Lure.
• Use it to catch a Tuna.
• Place the Tuna as bait to summon the Terrorizing Bird, then use cover during its attacks.

5. Military Island and Volcano — Bowhead Finale

The late-game scientist quests lead to the final whale sequence:

• Complete the scientist's objectives and catch the Bowhead Whale.
• Throw the whale's body into the volcano crater.
• Defeat the Mutated Bowhead Whale, return its Tail, receive the RHIB keys, and start the RHIB to finish the story.

How to Recognize a Drip Creature

Use the inspected name rather than guessing from accessories: a rainbow-colored name identifies a Drip creature. Catching one unlocks “Drip.” You can sell it, or insert it into the Reel of Fortune for a random cosmetic weapon or rod skin.
